Matthew Foy (Minister)

 

Matthew has been our minister since September 2019.  He is married to Tracey and has two primary school aged children.  Prior to moving to St Leonards, Matthew worked for a church in north London and was trained for ministry at Oak Hill Theological College.  He is passionate about Jesus Christ and his great desire is for people to come to know, love and trust him.  Matthew is also the minister of St Matthew’s Church in Silverhill.  

Sara Ainsworth (Families Worker)

 

Sara joined St Ethelburga in June 2025 as our Families worker. She is passionate about walking alongside families through the ups and downs of life, encouraging and supporting them. She is particularly excited to be involved with Messy Church and to see the children's love for Jesus growing. She and her husband have an 18 month old son and an 8 year old springer spaniel. Outside of work her hobbies include reading, travelling, animals and board games.

Patsy Johnson (Safeguarding Officer)

Patsy, who is originally from Hastings, moved back over 20 years ago and has been an active member of St Ethelburga's.  During that time she has been a PCC member, Churchwarden, helper with the Children's Ministry and is  currently responsible for the important area of safeguarding as Safeguarding Officer

Janet Crawford (PCC Treasurer and Church Administrator)

Janet has been PCC Treasurer for many years having attended St Leonards and St Ethelburga's churches for 35 years.  She retired as a community pharmacist in 2008 and since then has worked as trustee and treasurer for a number of small charities on a voluntary basis.  Janet has recently taken on the role of Church Administrator and cares deeply that we are good stewards of the church finances and communicate Jesus Christ to our congregation and neighbourhood in as many ways as possible.
